NYSA's 2020 Law Day has been converted to a four-part webinar series.  The four webinars will be held during the week of August 24th at 11:00 a.m.

What is stereotyping? Stereotyping of individuals means judging them based upon their legally protected characteristics (e.g., race, sex, etc.). This form of discrimination is gaining increased attention, especially in the workplace.  Significant Court decisions recognize that stereotyping can violate employment discrimination laws.  Stereotyping is also alleged to play a role in implicit bias and police misconduct which is still at the top of the news.  Staffing companies must now be aware of the legal risk posed by stereotyping when placing candidates or dealing with their own employees.

Speaker:

  • Richard L. Steer, Esq., Partner, Tarter, Krinsky & Drogin LLP
